Our mission

Storycue exists to help newsrooms thrive in a rapidly changing media landscape. We use artificial intelligence and data‑driven workflows to give every journalist an "audience expert" at their side. By analysing your historical data, tracking current trends and listening to over 20 customisable data sources, Storycue surfaces opportunities you might otherwise miss and suggests the best stories to publish and when. Our goal is simple: enable publishers to grow revenue and audience sustainably by focusing on content that resonates with their readers.

Our background

Storycue is part of Bright Sites, a company born in the newsroom. Founder Brian Alford spent years building bespoke platforms for UK publishers before pivoting to SaaS products tailored for newsrooms. Working in the middle of the newsroom floor, the team gained first‑hand insight into the daily challenges editors and audience teams face. That experience shaped our culture of building intuitive tools that help publishers create more value from their content and adapt quickly to tight deadlines.

Our first product was Flow, an AI‑powered CMS trusted by more than 200 publications for its smart, audience‑driven recommendations. As we continued to work closely with publishers, it became clear that newsrooms needed a dedicated tool to prioritise stories based on audience demand. That insight led to Storycue.
